List of Scholarships and Awards Available
The Society of Latinx Nurses provides scholarships and other awards that support Undergraduate and Graduate level Nursing students.
Undergraduate (Associate’s or Bachelor’s) Christina Rodriguez Legacy Scholarship (Nursing)
This scholarship is available for students currently enrolled in a nursing program in an accredited college or university. Students must have a minimum GPA of 2.5. The funding amounts range from $500 to $1,000, depending on the funds available. The scholarships are renewable if the student reapplies and continues to meet criteria posted.
This scholarship is available for Registered Nurses with a Bachelor’s degree who are furthering their education in a graduate level nursing program with the goal of earning an advanced degree. Applicants must be enrolled in graduate school at an accredited college or university with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
Scholarship awards range from $500 to $1,000.
Graduate Degree Scholarship (Sandra Diaz Memorial Fund)
Applicants must be enrolled at least part time (6 units/credits) in an accredited college or university, working towards an Associate, Bachelors, or Graduate degree (depending on the award you are applying for) in a nursing field of study. Applicants should have satisfactorily completed at least one semester / quarter in the nursing program.
Applicants must be a student of Latinx descent or demonstrate a commitment to the Latinx Community.
For all scholarships and awards, applicants must meet the required minimum GPA (transcripts required as verification).
Scholarship Requirements
Completed Application Form (see attachment).
Personal Essay (2 page maximum). Please refer to the Personal Essay form and ensure you address each required item within the body of the essay.
Attach at least one (1) Letter of Recommendation from a nursing professor, nursing clinical instructor, teaching assistant, or nursing employment manager or supervisor who is familiar with your skills and can describing your qualifications and potential for leadership for the scholarship you are applying for. A maximum of 2 letters may be submitted for review.

The Society of Latinx Nurses Scholarship Committee reviews all applications. Recipients will be notified by Sunday, July 19th, 2026. Scholarships are presented at the annual Society of Latinx Nurses Community (SOLN) event in the Fall. Recipients are encouraged to attend SOLN’s annual event to be recognized and receive their scholarship.
Application Process
DAISY Health Equity Award
Presented in collaboration with The DAISY Foundation, the SOLN DAISY Health Equity Award recognizes an individual SOLN member whose work advances health equity, reduces health disparities, and demonstrates compassionate, culturally responsive nursing care for underserved and historically marginalized communities.
Due: July 17
Be a current SOLN member in good standing
Be a licensed nurse (RN, or LPN/LVN)
Demonstrate commitment to advancing health equity and addressing social determinants of health
Provide compassionate, culturally responsive care to underserved populations
Serve as a mentor, advocate, educator, or leader within the nursing profession or community
Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and service beyond what is normally expected
Promote and enhance the image of nursing within the community and profession
Not be a current SOLN Board member

How has the nominee advanced health equity within their community or professional role?
How has the nominee addressed one or more social determinants of health?
How has the nominee made a significant impact on patient care, nursing, mentorship, advocacy, education, or community engagement?
How does the nominee demonstrate compassionate, culturally responsive nursing care?
How has the nominee gone above and beyond what is normally expected in their role?
